You are characterizing a technology as having a sound, when it does not. Does a Shure KSM32 sound like a DPA4061? Do both of these mics sound like the C4?
Heres some more C-2 recording from a pair of C-2's into a R09 sound ok to me...http://www.archive.org/details/gertrude2007-11-27.flac16http://www.archive.org/details/gertrude2008-08-06.flac16...I can certainly hear the rooms in these, much bigger issue than the mics.
