Title: $t€a1th: any idea to walk into the venue already set ?
Post by: fandelive on January 06, 2017, 12:29:17 PM: ...so I don't have to go to the bathroom to set myself up.

I'll be using 2 pairs of mics + 2 b boxes + 1 recorder. So my rig is minimalist.

No m€ta1 d€t€ct0rs. P0$$ible patd0vvn.

Post by: daspyknows on January 07, 2017, 10:05:47 PM: should be easy enough to rig up in your seat or wherever. Sitting in the corner at a bar works to. The recorder and pre can be set to go. Just put mics in a hat, plug in mic cables and you are done.

Post by: earmonger on January 08, 2017, 02:08:14 AM: I would think it would be MORE suspicious to go with everything all plugged in than to walk in with some mics that look like headphones, a recorder that looks like a point-and-shoot or a phone and a battbox that looks like nothing. Patdowns these days tend to be looking for weapons, not recorders. Find a spot or go to your seat and plug in. No one cares.

Depends on venue. Madison Square Garden and Beacon it can be a bust. We had a close call at MSG.
