Was thinking of getting one and since I'm still new to the taping scene it didn't look that bad. Has anyone used it before? What do you guys think of it?

Not bad for the money at all. Way better than a Dmic20, wish I had realized that ;)
What else are you looking into getting? You will need a phantom power supply for it but that's not a big deal at all.

I used one for about a year and really liked it a lot. Perfect for stealthing. It is a bit thin sounding so it works well with mics like the AKGs. I would caution you against using it with hot mics (like the Gefells) because the mic preamp overloads in loud concerts with hot mics. A pair of attenuators may help in that regard.
Great unit, though. Rock solid and I never had a problem with it once. Shorter than advertised battery life. The label says 8-9 hours, more like 5-6 under normal use.

my advice would be to skip the AD-20 and go with some type Phantom Power supplies/ SBM-1...
i ran this setup with Neumann KM-184s for a coupla years and the sound is nice and Phat...

i agree with hippies.

Many guys who did run these later sold to run something else. If I were you I'd look at the Apogee Mini-Me or Grace Design Lunatec V-3 these are both newly designed units and on the cutting edge of Field recording.

definately agree with Wiggler if money is not the point...
i just figured if the Styx was lookin' at the AD-20, he was thinkin' good units/ reasonable price for now...
