Power options for PMD660
« on: February 24, 2010, 07:03:16 AM »
Well I have been looking back through the posts. I have come to a couple of options. Money is a concern. The Wal~Mart battery does it have multiple voltages on the output? Anybody have a idea how long I could get out of the http://www.tekkeon.com/products-tekcharge1800-specs.html , I get about 1 hour and 10 minutes running Phantom power on the mics. I having a hard time letting go of the money for the Tekkeon 3450. So I am just looking at the options. Oh any other ideas are welcome.

Thank You

I'm also a 660 owner. Is there any reason why you couldn't run four D-cells into the power input? Radio Shack sells battery packs in all configurations, as well as the plugs. I had the same thing for my old MD unit and it ran for days with D's.

I guess I will need to look. But The totals I come up with are 3V 4.5V and 6 Volts. So I would need to either bring it up .5V or down 1V.
Oh I once used a 6V to power a SV250 and that burned out something on the power input. So I am hesitate to not use the right Voltage.

Well I settled on a Tekkoen MP3300 that I found on Flea Bay for 67 bucks. So my next power project will be to decide on a DC charger(car) for it. It is a never ending saga.

Good choice. I use the tekkeon mp3450 and the longest ive ran it with phantom as a test was something like 14 hrs.
I've never seen anyone with a car charger so if you find one post back here.
Thanks.
