Wavelab4 help (cd R/W, cue file edit); Audition 2.0
« on: May 17, 2006, 02:41:41 PM »
I'm using Wavelab 4.0 for mixing (SBD + AUD).  I really like the "montage", but I have some questions about CD read/write.

- Wavelab doesn't see my CD.  Any clues?  This is an external CD on a USB port

- I tried loading a cue file, which is great.  But is there any way to edit the CUE file before writing a CD?  In particular, I've got a cue file with some tracks labelled "gap", that I want to omit when I write the CD.  I tried to edit the montage, but either it didn't work, or it told me I had an invalid CD file when I did.

Thanks for any help.

By the way, does anyone else just keep their files as a single WAV and a corresponding CUE file?  I find that easiest so I can burn CDs in the future.

Oh yeah, can anyone hook me up with Audition 2.0?  I've got 1.0 and 1.5 now, but our school does not have 2.0 yet.  We're always behind versions it seems.

Thanks,
  Richard

I would suggest to do the matrix in the montage > render and save.  then track (and cue) in cd wave.

i do this with CD Wave - all my edits etc are done in SF - i resave and then track in CD Wave and save the cue sheet - now that I've moved to 24 bit I can use the same cue sheet for 16 and 24.

That is what I am doing right now.  I'm just wondering if I could do everything in Wavelab.  There is a CD read/write ability, I just can't get it to work.  Doesn't seem to see my drive.
