I have a 3 year old Dell desktop that has the 13 in 1 card reader that came with the unit installed in the case. I have been trying to pull my files off a new Lexar Platinum II 8 gig SD card I am using in my PMD661 and my computer does not want to read the card. No problem at all plugging the 661 into the USB and doing it that way, so I don't understand why the card reader is not seeing the files too.
Anyone come across this issue before?

I think the SDHC format (instead of just regular SD cards) came about in mid 2006, so it's possible that the card reader in your computer isn't compatible with SDHC cards.

Go to Dell's site and enter your service code (black label on all Dell's). Enter the 6-8 digit code and it will give you a list of drivers for you computer. Download the latest for your card reader and you should be good to go.

Here's the direct link to Dell's Support page.

Just click the link that says 'Service Tag' so that it can locate your exact machine. By picking the 'Choose a Model' option you may not get the proper driver as you would using the service tag.
For desktops the Service Tag looks like this:

OFOTD, Did not get to try it last night, but thanks for pointing me in the right direction, as the time you saved me is greatly appreciated. Taping a show tonight, so I will try Thursday night to update the drivers.
