Topic: Tinybox battery charging question

I finally drained the TB battery, not on purpose. Left it running on a home test and forgot about it. Anyhoo, I pluged it into the charger and the red light came on, on the charger. I figured that's a good sign as the battery was completely dead. However about 10 minutes later I had to move it to another outlet and when I plugged it back in the green light came on . Can't be charged in 10 minutes, can it?

I had this happen as well. I had recorded about 8 hours of music with it and then plugged it in. Within a few minutes the light turned green. I just ignored it and let it charge overnight.

Since then the red light seems to work. Either way I let it charge over night before each show.

I left it on overnight. It's OK to leave it plugged in for long periods?

The red light on the charger will be on whenever the battery is charging, it doesn't have to be fully drained.  When the charger light is green, the battery is supposedly fully charged.  I don't think it can fully charge in 10 minutes though.  It will not be damaged if left connected to the charger and is protected against overcharging.

With no microphones connected, tinybox will last up to 60 hours on a full charge . . .

can you do a bench test to see why it is showing as green. this could give someone a false reading and potentially ruin a recording. thanks for any help.

I really don't find the light to be an issue. I plug mine in the night before a show so I am sure I have a full charge. Even if you forget it's unlikely you'll run out of juice unless you recorded an entire festie the day before or you haven't used it in weeks. Li-Ion batteries retain their charge for a long time.

I think it is the same charger in my littlebox and my red light never comes on that I have seen...only the green. I charge it the night before as Nola listed above and have no issues. I haven't ever let it drain so.....maybe it would be red at some point dunno.

Fluke. Jon's initial thought was a bad charger. The meter verified this.
