I was actually going to post this when the thread started, however, believe it or not the 561 is actually larger than the 661.

561 - 6.7 x 4.1 x 1.6”
661 - 6.5 x 3.7 x 1.4”

Tascam DR-10X.. but mono, and doesn't provide phantom.

But you would need to pair a recorder to the M2D2.
If it’s device compliant a larger iPhone SE or 6 would be a nice combo.

Wow, on first look, I was under the impression this M2D2 device had SD recording capabilities. Is there another sonosax which does?

Yeah that shit is spendy. I have a friend in film sound, he does mostly A productions after 30 years in the biz. They dig that sonosax gear alongside their Nagras and Schoeps.
