Title: UA-5 with EcoCharge EC-90?
Post by: §†∑∫åµÞ≥¥ on March 20, 2004, 08:17:03 PM
That is, if I get the 6v/12v model? 12v to run the UA-5 (9v) and 6v to run my D100. Is there an adapter for the UA-5 from EcoCharge? Maybe with the MMe 12v adapter?

Thanks.

Yes, the UA-5 will run on 12v.  Though you can save yourself a lot of weight (and charging time) by using RC batteries instead of SLA.  Don't know whether EC has an adapter plug for the UA5 or if the MMe adapter will work - they'll probably make one for you if you don't want to do it yourself.

FWIW, I don't think it's worth running the D100 on a 6v SLA since it's so easily powered by rechargable batteries and it's really a 4.5v device.  Anecdotal evidence suggests while some have run D100/M1s on 6v successfully, others have encountered problems over time.  YMMV.

yeah, I've had no trouble doing 3 hour shows on two 1850 nimh batteries with an m1, light mostly off. Still have one bar left, I think I could get 3:30 easy, and really, the only band I can think of that might do a 3:30 one setter is drive by truckers.
