Topic: capacitor / roll-off question

So, I'd like to modfify my DPA MPS6020 for permanent bass roll-off at about 150Hz by replacing the capacitors. I can do the soldering myself, but I forgot how to calculate the correct values. (The 6020 is feeding the line-in of my D100.) I remember reading about that stuff here, but I can't find it anymore. Could someone help out?
Also, what's a good place to buy/order capacitors?

Doug Oade posted this on the Oade Taper Forum late last year.  It specifically is directed to that Batt box.  That DIY section is chok full of great tips and solutions, if you are inclined and skilled enough to take a crack at a DIY project (do it yourself or destroy it yourself).

Yes, thanks. But where do I get them? And which type exactely? I checked cornell-dubilier.com (since the stock caps are Dubiliers), and they have so many different ones... I'm confused.

Just about any cap will be better than what's in there now! 

22nF is a standard value.  You must pay some attention to size
and pin spacing.

im making a batterybox this week from scratch i will make some pics of it. i have 0.01 uf in them wich gives me around 300khz roll off is that to much for cmc-8 (993s)?

300khz? Yeah, that sounds about right for bats

i just finnisched making my batterybox i used 2,2 uf cause i needed no roll off.

i used wima capicators

probably, but they say film capicators are the best. but don;t know if that would fit in your battery box.

I posted on the Oade forum about which type of film caps to use, and this is what the man himself wrote:

I feel that polypropylene and polycarbonate are your best bet. The polypropylene caps have a smoother sound. Most any film cap will have lower distortion than most electrolytic caps, but audio grade electrolytic caps do come close to films caps performance. Standard grade electrolytic caps sound pretty bad and you can improve the sound of playback gear by simply replacing them with audio grade caps. Further enhancement can be had by using a film bypass cap with the electrolytic cap..Doug
