Anyone find a more affordable mounting clip for the SRS mic mounts. I just ordered one for my AKG c460 mics but don't really have the extra $ for the Shure A53m shock mount. The AkG mics are heavy, so I'm not sure if there is a decent alternative to get me by until I can get the Shure.

Well, the cheapest shock mount that I've found effective at all are these Schoeps A20 knockoffs. Line the cradles with some felt to grab onto 20mm mic bodies or mounting bars such as the SRS mounts:

The Rycote INV-HG (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/880280-REG/Rycote_041118_INV_8_Microphone_Suspension.html) is really the best way to go. I'd recommend saving your money and buying one as soon as possible.

Thanks!

I strongly second this!

I say to go for the rycote as well. It's the best sonically. It is totally indestructible. The cable clip is perfect.

Ok, thanks for the all the rycote advice. I will get that when I finally move my ck61's and ck63's to actives and have a SRS dual mount like some of you have. But for now, I went with what I had $ for so I can get started. Shure A53m.

Update: I don't believe the Shure A53m is the right mount for the SRS amplifier mounts. At least for the heavy AKG 460/480 amplifiers, this A53m mount is too soft and the mics sag way to the side and cause the mount to droop. I had to put a sticky pad on the plastic arm of the A53m to allow the lower SRS mic clip to rest on in order to stabilize the setup. Here is what they look like when turned away from the plastic arm. About to fall out.

Ive been using an a53 wiyh my 460/480's with no issues. Ill.try to.post a pic soon

I'd love to see it.

I've had good results using the Audix SMT19 mount. It "leans" very little with full body AKG's. http://www.audixusa.com/docs_12/units/SMT19.shtml

You are NOT using the MKIII - I have several of those too: You will get all of the shock absorbtion that you need! Sorry that I linked you to the Rycote INV-7 InVision/
Use the MKIII below and you will be a happy man.
