How to rip a web stream
« on: November 11, 2009, 06:15:19 PM »
I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question but here it goes:

Does anyone know what software would be good to rip a live web stream?
I hope to rip a live concert from the Rave, The monsters of death tour is going to have a live stream, and I hope to catch the Vader stream.

thanks in advance, And sorry if Ive posted in the wrong section.....

It wont let me create an account, but the program that I was going to try is called Replay Media Catcher.  It will capture a live audio/video stream in its native format.  Good Luck!

I use Total recorder from High criteria.

it makes large files. 1 hour is about 100 Gb

Best wishes

total Recorder will also work fine but not capture the native stream.  Instead what it does is records what goes across your sound card.  One HUGE benefit of Total Recorder is that you can record straight to FLAC and also tell it to do file size splits.

ask & record toolbar

http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,77555-order,3/description.html

The reviewer of this program says this, "As a Firefox user I use the free DownloadHelper, which doesn't add a toolbar to the mix.", and the Ask toolbar really sucks, so why recommend this program?

It seems like DownloadHelper would have been a better recommendation.
