I like old hi-fi speakers!
A few samples from my collection - starting from over 60 years back:
General Electric A1-400 coaxial speakers; circa early 1950's - the lowboy cabinet on the right:

They are a corner speaker design:

The GE musical hubcap coaxial speaker cover:

As a monaural corner speaker (only the top speaker is hooked up). They are powered by the mono phonograph console, Audrey (c. early '30's), that is to the right of the image (which also has its own onboard speaker; not presently active):

Bozak B302a - pair; circa 1959/60:

What they look like without the grilles (internet image - not mine):

Akai SW-155's, c. early 70's ('72 ?). These were a thrift store score for $15 pair:

Also in the lineup,  but some with no pictures:
~ ADS L-10 bookshelf pair (c. late 70's / early 80's)
~ Realistic Minimus 7 bookshelf pairs (x2; one white pair, one walnut pair) (c. late 70's early 80's)

Too new to call vintage:
Solioloquy 6.3 reference monitors (c. '99)

Wow.....I loving your lugunas. These are some really sought after speakers. How do they sound and what do you drive 5 hem with? Are they as desirable as their reputation?

I am driving them with a 2 watt tube amp, the soundstage is huge and they sound very clean. They are a tad shy in the bass, so i added a small subwoofer
that fills in the lows nicely. These were my dad's, he bought them in 1970 after looking for years. I got them from him in 1992. They sound great to me, so not looking
to change anything.

That is a great back story.  Your Dad has great taste. It is not uncommon for these to fetch upward to $6000. I have feeling these are going to be a family treasure for a long time.

Nice thread. I almost picked up a pair of Acoustic Research AR-2's the other day. My Dad had a pair when I was growing up and I loved them. This thread may inspire me to go back to get them. :D

I drool over my dad's AR-4x's and his Sansui 9090 everytime I go over there...  He uses his kick-ass vintage system to listen to talk radio...  what a waste...

Not in the class of any of these, but my parents have an old stereo system from about 1970 with KLH Model Seventeen speakers. They sound darn good but almost entirely get used to listen to Car Talk and A Prairie Home companion. Occasionally UT Vol football games.

Last Christmas I was trying to get ideas for a gift for my dad which is always impossible and my mom said they needed a new radio to listen to NPR since the old one stopped working. They had had some new flooring put in and thought cables got cut or something and in the end it was just time to give up on the whole thing. Sounded a little odd to me but, oh well. Parents and technology. I've stopped trying to help them too much from afar.

I got there at Christmas and looked around and the wires had been disconnected from the speaker and the receiver. Just needed to be reconnected. They were both quite shocked.

Apparently my Mom had been eying the speakers to convert to planters or something...

Guess my lowly Advent 6003's and NYAL Moscode 300 from 1984 aren't quite vintage yet...even the Advent purist would argue that a Three Way is no Advent...but I love mine...re-foamed the Woofers 5 years ago...the Moscode gave up the ghost in 2012 (I need to send it to George Kaye for repair) and the Advents were hooked up to a  Yamaha home theater AV amp...they rock on to this day.

My brother-in-law has a pair of Klipschorns in Walnut dating from the very early 70's.  Very nice.  Really don't need much to drive them, but you do need the right room as they are made for corner placement.
