Topic: Help with Edirol R09 plug-in

Hello all,  I have been taping shows for 4 years with a Edirol R09, and lately I had a problem: the microphones plug does not fit perfectly into my Edirol R09, and everytime I move just a little, that plug moves too and it ruins the recording by making loud scratches.
It's almost impossible to stay still during the whole time of recording a show, so I don't know what to do, do you have any idea?

Have you tried cleaning the mic jack?Also i always rubber band or velcro the mic cable along side of the deck less chance for it to move.

Those jacks do wear out.  Cleaning as suggested could be a prospect.  A repair probably isn't worth it unless you know someone to do it cheap...

If the cleaning doesn't work, and there's a good chance it won't because the R09 jacks are notorious for breaking, you could always use battery box or preamp into line in until you get around to buying a new machine.

ahh, the r09 jack issue. honestly, i'm surprised yours has lasted that long. I began having issues with my line-in 2.5 years into owning the recorder
