Changing up my playback and need advice...
« on: January 19, 2015, 12:19:03 PM »
I found a good deal on a pair of KRK Rockit 8's which are active. My current Tannoy Reveals are not powered and I'm using a Cambridge amp to power them. Just wondering what you guys are using as a pre-amp for powered speakers these days? I have a pretty basic set-up. Four sources feed the Cambridge, which has a pre-amp section. I have a Mackie mixer, but I'd rather use something simpler, like a passive or minimal component pre-amp with a big knob.

I'm keeping both systems, because I still like the Tannoys. After getting both set-up I'll decide which will be the main near field monitors.
Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.

If you are looking for something simple and good, I would go with either a Grace,  Benchmark or Mytek. Choose your flavor.
