Sony ECM 989
« on: September 19, 2015, 07:29:54 PM »
Anyone run one of these?  I picked one up a while ago but never really got to look it over more closely. I know it works as it is, but I got some questions about cables.  I'm wondering if I could run a simple 5 pin XLR>3.5 Mini from the mic into a M10?  Is the connection between the head and the body a simple 5 pin XLR>5 pin XLR?  If I can find the cables I might try this at my kid's school jazz band concert.

A lot of people run a race to see who is the fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Pretty sure you can. I had a custom cable made, plus I did use a 5pin to mini stereo into my recorder.

See pictures of the one I recently sold here http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=172748.msg2139125#msg2139125
