Phantom power using PFAs (paging Jon)
« on: November 13, 2015, 10:56:15 AM »
If I have a preamp or all-in-one that can output phantom power lower than 48V, how does that work if using a v1 PFA and Schoeps capsules? That is, can a PFA accept 12V phantom or 24V phantom the same as it can accept 48V -- meaning the circuit simply steps down the power less than it would if fed 48V?

Obviously the Schoeps CMC6 bodies can do this -- 12V or 48V -- but I wasn't sure about the PFAs.

^ Just to be clear, then, how do I know if my PFAs have a polarization circuit or not? Do all of yours have that?
