Kinda off topic, but has anyone gotten a parts list for the warm or presence mods?

From looking at it you could easily get those kinds of changes by simply changing the caps, and swapping out the op amps... (check www.headfi.com those guys get serious about headphone amps, and swap op-amps to give similar changes to those amps...)

only thing i know is doug is getting the caps for this (different than the caps for the ua5 mod) from overseas at a bulk discount

i dont think anyone knows what parts he is using for the warm/presence mod'd ua5s

So no one has opened one up and looked at it?

I dunno if many people are going to jump at this unit.  I would have if I could've sent mine in for modification, but I'm not going through the hassle of selling and re-buying.

it was definantly a hassle to sell and then buy another new unit to get it modded, but worth it i think

im not sure if anyone who knows what they are looking at has opened up a mod'd ua5 and checked it out, im sure someone has

Didn't Doug himself say at one point he removes the part numbers from all the stuff he replaces to make it harder for copycats?
Governor Jim McGreevey was equally disturbed about the upcoming population increase. "New Jersey cannot support all of these wookies," he said. "For starters, we don't have nearly enough kindbud. At best, we can muster up a Q.P. of some beasties, but we've not a dime-bag more."

i would also assume that would be tru, i would do that if it was me :)

some of the stuff he is replacing in the 410's is from overseas also, which i would think would make it a little more tricky to identify and get ahold of

I believe so.  But he's also freely offered some specific part numbers in other posts when people express keen interest in trying the mod themselves.

hopefully il get to post lots of samples

recently one of the groups i archive for have went seperate ways, which opened the door or the front man to play solo acoustic shows. which is fine by me!

and the other group i used to archive for is back in action, and wanting to play as much as possible...

just got the TL's, so hopefully il get to tape alot this summer!
