Title: Elgato EyeTV
Post by: phreshie on March 24, 2007, 02:05:04 PM
has anyone herd of this ..... i hope to connect it to my new macbook pro via the card itself - one side looks to be a USB and the other is a coax antenna connection. hooked to conventional rabbit ears you can get HD signal from local broadcasts. bein 26mi outside of boston whats my chances of getting a good signal ?
it will allow you to watch over the air HD signals granted your close enough to a metro area broadcasting in HD and your monitor supports it.
or can u guys recomend something to achieve this for a laptop .... thanks

El Gato makes good stuff.  For HD reception in your area, take a look at AVS forums (avsforum.com).  Or, if you Google your ZIP code and "HD OTA" you'll probably get some good info.

I've got the EyeTV 500 hooked up to a Mac Mini and it's fantastic.

I can pick up all staions avail to me with great clarity ! clear 720p !! nice, installation was easy as pie. works effortlessly, i find having the cd in at the same time reduces errors in the pic or it scrambling to get a pic. it plugs in USB and i connect to regular rabbit ears, sweet. I just wish there were more stations !!
