Is this the "Walmart Battery"....
« on: April 03, 2007, 01:59:11 PM »
Sorry, this is a noob question, but is this the "Walmart Battery" that powers a UA5?:

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2350787

If not, would someone mind posting the correct link.  Also, what cables (if any) would i need to hook it up to the UA5?  Thanks in advance!

That is it.  The one and only.  Search the forum for the correct cable.  You can get an adaptacable from radio shck.  I believe you need tip B and M.

Thank you for confirming that.  Could anyone help with a link or more specific details on the cable you need to connect the walmart battery to the UA5? Thanks again.

# 7.2 volts
# Rated at 5400 mah

You need one that is 9vDC.  This particular battery is only 7.2vDC.

Quick Google of 9v DVD battery found this (and many others very similar if not same):

Walmart is only one branding for the same battery.  Others:

Here is a link to the right one and a good price.

Also all you need is the "m" adaptaplug. It fits the cable that comes with the battery. Just make sure to reverse the polarity.

I use a 7.2v 5400mah "Walmart" battery and it powers my UA-5 with no problems.

Isn't $48 a bit steep for that battery? I believe I got new ones from Walmart for half that price (on clearance) a while back.
