Anyone recognise this box 'TFE Micpower' ?
« on: May 23, 2013, 09:26:12 PM »
Going to be putting together a taping rig soon so been looking through boxes and came across this little one, but couldn't find any info on it? thought about putting it in the YS or ebay but something tells me it may come in useful !

So anyone seen this make before, any idea what its worth? it is small, has a belt clip, powered by 2x 9v and if I remember batteries never run out in this thing  :)

Great pre at a great price. I would think using 2 mono pre's would be more than a bit of a hassle.

This looks like it isn't even a pre but simply a Batt Box with LCF and ATTEN - it looks pretty high end of a battery box

looking at it again I have noticed that the fourth hole on the xlr input has a tiny trim pot at the end of it.. could be a gain? last time I checked the output was around +4db .

Shows a "Z" near this hole.. possibly an impedance switch.
How do you get the +4 output? it's just a power supply, right?
I have these for sale... sort of the same thing.
Sennheiser 418s>SDMixPre-D>RO9HR
Beyer MC930>Fostex FM3>NagraSD
Couple of Schoeps CMT441 too.
