David,

I have a DieHard 1150 portable battery.  It has a big ole lead battery in it.  It can do everything from jumping a car, charging portable electronics, air compressor, and has a lamp.  Comes with a built-in inverter.  Perfect for camping.  A must-have for festies where available power outlets are slim.  If I was going to Lockn', this what I would be bringing with me.

You could find one cheaper on eBay.  Schumacher makes a pretty good one too.  Oh yeah, we're talking lead, so these puppies are a wee bit heavy.

When I go to a festival I usually stay at hotels, so I bring about 30hrs of batt life and charge over night. And If I don't then I'd bring enough for the entire time. But that could be a lot of money in batteries if you have an inefficient rig. Mines a little box and m10 so the m10 I change batteries once  at the beginning of the day. The little box can run 10+ he's on a single Rc bat so its very easy.

Also some festivals supply power in the tapers section if there is one. But I wouldn't anticipate that, its not very common

I have a Marantz 661 and I have three small ext. battery packs that last about 11 hours each (they cost $25 each). I also use Sanyo Eneloops in the unit also as a backup. I just ordered a SD MixPre-D and after talking to a couple members off board I figure I can get about 5 hours off a set of Energizer Ultimate batteries with P48 on. I plan to pick up an ext. battery pack for the MixPre that is rated at 98 watt hours so I can handle most festies. I also want to test the MixPre using the Eneloop batteries.
