DPA 4061 3-pin to R09 mini-jack?
« on: September 21, 2013, 01:55:54 PM »
Hello,

I recently purchased 2 DPA 4061, the plugs are 3-pin as far as I can see, and I want to plug them to my Edirol R09 mini-jack.
I asked the vendor, he told me to buy 3-pin lemo adapter. I searched the web but still doesn't know for sure what's the solution.
What box can convert 2 '3-pin' to one mini-jack? I saw on this group CA-9200 or 9100 could do that, am I right?
MMA6000 too but it's a bit expensive. Are there other choices?
Anybody on this group could help me?

Thanks
Francois

The adapter isn't worth the money if this looks like what you'd need:

They list for about $90 US each.

Can you post a picture of the cable ends? One of the MPS60XX series power supplies might work, but 3-pin is a bit too vague of a description.

I couldn't find the MPS on the DPA site, it appears that it's under a bit of a makeover.

BTW, welcome to taperssection!

Maybe a couple of small scratches, but thats because these mics are chick magnets.
Girls always up on Andy tryin to grab these mics, the scratches are from their wedding rings.

Thank you Genghis for your reply and welcome. Yes the adapter isn't worth it. Attached 2 photos of the cable end.

DPA's 4061 are actually 2 wire mics and are "easily" rewired to a single mini plug. I have rewired many a pair, if you are interested drop me a PM.

Moonpeeler -- Darktrain knows his stuff and has hooked me up with great custom cabling products a number of times -- have no fear doing business with him.

It looks like someone rewired his to a 3-pin Lemo connector, maybe for use with the Sennheiser wireless packs?

Can you make a poer supply so that he doesn't have to rely upon plug-in power? Those mics with a power supply are pretty much bullet proof.
