External power options for Edirol R4?
« on: September 14, 2015, 06:40:23 PM »
I can't imagine my DVD batts will hold up much longer.  What are people using to power an R4 these days?

I'm particularly interested if anyone has experience with a Naztech PB15000 Universal Power Bank Charger, or something similar.

Mods, feel free to move this to a different forum if appropriate.  I've been searching various forums and using the search feature, but everything I've found about the R4 is quite dated.

TIA!

You can refurbish the cells of your existing DVD batteries...with even larger capacity cells than is in the unit now...I'd do two to try it out...it will save you from purchasing new cables at the least for now.

If you are adverse to cracking the case and soldiering new cells in Tonedeaf is doing this now for the TS IIRC

Thanks, gents!

Kunie, I had one fail a few years back, so I keep waiting for the others to go.  Just about the same vintage as yours.

Hypno, if I grab something new, like the Naztech, is it then just a matter of getting a new cable?
