Piggybacking 4500 mAh Energizers
« on: March 30, 2005, 03:32:33 AM »
I have one of the Energizer 4500mAh batteries that has the in and out pin connectors.  Is there any reason I couldn't run two, and go:

Battery 1 output > Battery 2 input
Battery 2 output > UA-5

I'm just looking to get a longer runtime without disconnecting.
Socks are overrated.

i think that would lead to excessive drain on your second batteires.  It would constantly be recharging.  What you could do is wire the batteries in parallel so that you have the equivilent of a 9 amp 9.6 or 7.2 volt battery

don't run em that way.  what bagtag said.  just run 1st batt output "+, -" tied to 2nd batt output "+, -" in a "Y" setup, then into UA5, then you'll get same voltage, but higher ampreage.  twice the run time ;)

I think you should make sure that the batteries have the same amount of charge.  That is don't run with one battery fully charged and then one 1/2 charged.  Otherwise I believe the stronger battery will try to charge the weaker battery.  You can also use the "Y" cable and hook up just use one battery.  When that battery gets low plug in the new battery to the other side of the "Y" and then unplug the dead battery.
