Sound card reccomendations
« on: December 07, 2002, 11:05:22 PM »
So I am going to get a new soundcard, and was thinking about getting a usb device, like the emagic 2I6 in case I wanted to get into 24 bit, but that won't be until I get the loot for a v3!  Anyway, any thoughts on this?  Should I just stick to a pci card?  Keep in mind I do almost all of my listening through the computer, so high quality is a must!

Thanks for the space

I have just been using a zoltrix nightengale pro 6, which is fine for transfers, but playback leaves a lot to be desired.

RME DIGI96/8 PST... best card I've ever owned.  It's not cheap though either.

If I could talk her into a 170 rig, I would probably set a date...well, maybe not, but it would be a great present!

I have to agree.  I use the Audiophile 2496 and have not had any problems at all.  You can get them at Guitar Center for ~$150-175...

yes, the audiophille 2496 works like a champ...have yet to have a single problem with mine, done tons of transfers.

The problem with Creative Labs stuff is that they un-necessarily resample all incoming input....

I have a hercules GT-XP and I like it so far.
When cleaning out her attic, Grace found several bootleg recordings her mother had made while traveling around the world with the Grateful Dead. Grace is not permitted to sell these bootleg recordings on eBay.
