Rechargeable 9Vs, the AD-20, and you...
« on: April 02, 2008, 06:26:29 PM »
Has anyone here used rechargeable 9Vs with the AD-20? I'm curious to see what type of run time one gets with it.

don't know
I ended up making a SLA 12 V 4.5 amphour  battery to power both my AD-20 and PS-2
the AD-20 has a higher and lower voltage tolerance than the PS-2
but  most (if not all) rechargeable  batteries are not full voltage AA's are 1.2 v not 1.5 ... not sure about hte 9v's
my PS-2 would die after about 40 minutes on a regualr 9V alakaline... powering my RODE NT5's
though the AD-20 was still going
but the PS-2  died and caused distortion of the mics before it died...
I'd either get an external (you could make a sled of 2-9v's together) they use a standard 1/8 mini plug to power... or just use the plain old  (recyclable)  alkaline...
there's my 2 1/2 ¢

I had a great TS'er make me a power solution for my Denecke gear using an RC battery and wiring in two 1/8" plugs. So again, you may want to consider something else other than the standard 9v or 9v rechargable.

I think I would shy away from rechargables.
