Does anyone have any experience with the Energizer lithium cells? I am still on the fence (and a little shore of cash) re a permanent external power source for my new dr-680. I did run it with a one of my dvd batteries for a 2 set show a couple of weeks ago but had some clipping issues toward the end of the show (I think b/c of the dvd voltage). Plus I need all four of my dvds for the V-3 @ Mtn Jam on Sat so was wondering about getting through the day with a couple of 8 packs of these cells. I only run two channels direct into the 680.
Any input would be appreciated,

Lithium batteries have a fantastic run-time, but are expensive and the discharge curve makes it very difficult to predict when they'll die. They'll read 80-90% power for their entire lifespan and then instantly plummit whereas an alkaline or NiMH has a more gradual and predicatable discharge curve.
Considering the cost of disposable lithiums I'd say you're wasting money, but since you need them by Saturday it may be your only option. If I had to take a WAG, I'd say they'll go for 4-6 hours on the 680 running two channels w/ phantom. You should definitely bring extras (even alkalines or NiMH's) and then hotswap if necessary while temporarily using a dvd batt. I believe this will work but try at home first. Definitely not a recommended practice.

Thanks. Great input, very helpful. I got an 8 pack last week at Walgreens for 10.00 off! and will get one more 8 pack and then have one of the dvd batteries on standby just for the 680. I am leaning toward the 10-14-115 battery geek external long term.
