Tyler Acoustics
« on: May 15, 2003, 06:34:22 AM »
I got a great deal off Audiogon yesterday for a pair of Tylo Reference Monitors, stands, x-ternal crossovers & powered sub. I'm really excited to hear what a great monitor & sub will do for my home rig. I haven't heard these speakers yet but everywhere I've looked I've never seen a bad review. Now I just have the loooong wait ahead of me before I can get these babies :'(
I know you like, tape for people's approval and stuff, and wave your tapes around like they're your dick...  but even you can't actually think section tapes from philips sound good.

OH boy do they sound good, I am very impressed by this "little" monitor set up. We all agreed they blew the Vandersteens away in every aspect. Listening to the opening track of DSOTM last night on SACD was incredible, these "little" woofers can push a ton of energy at you. My biggest fear was that these wouldn't play loud enough or fill the room ::) Needless to say that was not a concern last night ;)

yup....that setup smokes the vandies.  not even close. Maybe the vandies just couldn't work in that room to their full potential, but those Taylors sure as hell do.
Just have to get Carl to turn down that sub a little.  Yikes!
but damn, what a slam in the face it kicks out.

The sub has been a ton of fun, I love the slam. Makes me feel like I'm at a WSP show & Dave is getting down & dirty ;D
