V2 is 650 to 700 bucks depending on what it comes with. (maybe 750 on ebay)

Mod SBM-1's are going for a lot less than I think they should be. At least here they are. Search the YS on this one.

So maybe V2+SBM-1 together $900 - $1k? I like to get rid of the combo than sell seperate. What's a used V3(no optical mod) price? I saw one go for I believe $900.

A few V3's went sub-1K but that's not normal.

Ya I would think not. I guess depending on the age and wear and tear would come in to factor also. Still haven't decided if I want or even need to move to V3.

give it a try..  the 184>v3 combo is nice.. definitely different than the v2>sbm.. but not by much..  maybe hang on to the v2, sell the mt2496 and the sbm, and pick a marantz pmd672 or tascam hdp2 and go line-in from the v2..

haivng run 461/3>V2>modsbm1 and now 461/3>V3, id have to say i prefer the v2>modsbm1 combo on a sonic level, but the V3 is very close and an all-in-one solution w/24bit capability that is a better compromise imo

thought about it, and this sounds crazy, but i LOVE the v3 meters and i think the v3 rocks at 24-bit, so its not going anywhere

when the time comes im gonna go w/ the tascam/671, cant decide yet :)
