Title: Thoughts on the Audio-Technica PRO-35 mics?
Post by: obsidian on December 29, 2016, 01:44:56 PM
I am thinking of purchasing two Audio-Technica PRO-35's and having them termed into a single stereo 1/8" ... I have a few questions for the knowledgeable staff on hand ...

Would I be able the above setup accurately with a 12-Volt Battery Box?  I'm looking for simplistic and would like to steer clear of a pre-amp if possible.  I like the high SPL that this mic offers (145db) and the signal-to-noise looks to be in-line with other mics of this sort (64db) ... so does anyone think this would be a nice arrangement?  I mainly tape stealth of bands in theaters/halls ...

Lastly, who could do the mod for me?

Thanks for your help.

I don't know anything about that mic, but I'd suggest you to put a total cost on what you'd spend to get those mics ready to go (caps x2 + custom Y cable + 4.7k mod + postage) and to save that amount of money to buy either a pair of SP-CMC-8 (http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/SP-CMC-8) or SP-CMC-4U (http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/SP-CMC-4u) with SP-ATMIC-MODIF (http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/SP-ATMIC-MODIF).

Both are made with Audio Technica caps, just like the way you need it.
