heat shrink purchase?
« on: December 26, 2013, 12:20:32 PM »
I'm looking to buy some small quanitites of heat shrink tubing.  What I'm looking for is 3:1 shrink ratio but without adhesive lining.  Most places I have looked only have 3:1 w/ adhesive.  I'm having trouble locating this except in long spools.  Does anyone have a good source for this?

It's the 3:1 ratio shrink I need, and that's what I'm not finding at those places.  2:1 is easy to find everywhere.

Radio Shack has small quantities as a standard on the shelf product, but I don't know the shrink ratio.

Parts Express.

check your local Harbor Freight too if you have one. I've bought 3:1 there before. Shipping is likely to be more than the heat shrink itself unless buying a lot.

Harbor Freight recently opened a store near me and I did look there first - unfortunately the only 3:1 they carry is the "marine grade" with adhesive lining.  I'm looking for something easily removable from cables and connectors in the future.  Thanks for the suggestion though.

I only use the 3:1 ratio heatshrink. And once it cools down, that shit dries pretty hard and durable!
