Title: **Resolved** Router Access - Port Forwarding
Post by: dactylus on August 14, 2016, 09:46:34 AM
My router has had the same config access address for the last 8 years.  Same username, password, etc for access.  I just started up my "main music download" computer and tried downloading a few shows in the kickdown and immediately noticed that I was firewalled.  This is normally not a problem to port forward the appropriate port.  For some reason I'm unable to access my router now.  The username and password are NOT being accepted as valid.

Does anyone have any advice on what to try next?  Thanks in advance.

David

I've had my router lose it's config after a power outage/surge. I had to log in using the default admin user/password and restore the settings. If you don't have them saved to a file, you'll need to reconfigure it.

Thank you.

That is what I'm afraid has happened here.  We've had some nasty electrical storms in the last week.  I guess I need to try and obtain instructions for reconfiguring this particular router purchased in 2008...

My router had to be reconfigured.  User manual was easy to find online.  Problem solved!
