Title: LMA question
Post by: TaperBryan on August 24, 2016, 08:42:57 AM
I think this is the right spot for this post. If not, mods, please move. Anyways, I recently got an upgraded desktop PC at work. I was trying to access LMA to stream a show a message indicating the site is unaccessible. I then get the following tips to try to connect:

--Check your Internet connection
--Check any cables and reboot any routers, modems, or other network devices you may be using.
--Allow Chrome to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings. If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server...
--Check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server: Go to the Chrome menu > Settings > Show advanced settings... > Change proxy settings... > LAN Settings and deselect "Use a proxy server for your LAN".

I'm not the most familiar with Chrome, so I'm not sure where exactly to allow Chrome to access the network in the firewall/antivirus settings. Any ideas on where/how I can check that?

Thanks in advance.

I would guess your work is blocking the site and it isn't something you have control of.

That's what I'm thinking, Rory. It's funny how they don't seem to block FB but will block LMA when they probably have no clue what the site is.  LOL. Looks like I'm reloading my PC with music I have saved on my external HD.

My work network blocks any sites that have bit torrents and LMA has torrent files now.

IMHO, it's irking. I can get more work done listening to music than not listening to music. I'll continue to surf FB from my iPhone vs. my desktop.... :P
