Can someone tell me what are the most recommended high capacity cards that are compatible with a Tascam DR-680?
-
I will recollect that the DR 680 only accepted cards to 32 GB. I never had an issue with a single card, but I used only class 10. I used Wintec mostly, purchased on Amazon, but also EMtec which was the microcenter cheapie.
For the DR680MKII which I now use, I can go to SDHC cards, so I use a Sony (Class 10) 128 gb and 64 GB and rotate 4 cards all purchased through B and H.

I use Kingston class 4 32gb sdhc cards for my 680 and Kingston class 10 64gb sdxc cards in my 680 mkii. They work great. I tried a Sandisk 16gb class 10 card several years ago in the 680 and it locked up several times so it went into a camera, but no issues w/ the Kingston cards. <knocks on wood>
edit to add: The 64gb class 10 card got write errors last night and I couldn't do a full format on it on a pc so I guess the card went bad. I'm just going to stick with class 4 cards for the 680ii. Had to jinx myself...

I have always used 32 GB SanDisk Ultra class 10 cards in my 680s. The highest speed that I'm using now is the 80 MB/s without issue. I also have many Ultra 30 MB/s that I have been using for years.

microburst, I found this when I bought my used 680: http://tascam.com/content/downloads/products/43/dr-680_tested_media_list_en_r6_20131126.pdf
It is a pdf, but has all the tested cards listed.
