Looking for DIY ideas for very low profile right angle xlrs.  Have you made some of these or purchased any?  I'd like to see how you do it.
Thanks,
Bernie

If your looking for ideas, there are some custom cablers here on TS over in the retail section who have pictures posted.

If you want to make these at home just buy some Neutrik XLR connectors and remove the boots from the set and carefully w/ a dremil tool cut a notch in the back of the barrel (cable side). Next solder your cables to XLR connectors and test to make sure they work. Stop and test and make damn sure they work before going on to next step. The easy way to seal the barrel end and get a smooth finish is by using plumber epoxy. The kind that is like dough and you mix the gray w/ black until they are dark gray and goes hard in 5 minutes. Good luck and have fun ;)

I just made a pair of stubbie right angle XLR's similar to Darktrains.  The male ends came out fine, but on the female side some of the epoxy dripped down into the area where the cable release button retracts into despite my attempt to block with tape.  How do you prevent this?

Just a small piece of electrical tape over that area before you use epoxy/glue but make sure the tape contacts the side of the housing a little, works 99.9% of the time, everyonce in a while i have to redo it because a little gets in, also make sure you band that little piece over the opening as well
