which one records two mics?
« on: May 19, 2014, 11:23:10 PM »
Not sure if I am wording this but the roland r05 has both a mic in and a line in input. Would it possible for me to plug in two mics in there and record sound from both mics so that I have two difference source feeds? For instance lets say I plug in a church audio mic in the line in slot and a sony ecm mic in the mic in slot, would i end up with 2 files recorded from each mic feed?

If not then can the zoom h2 or the sony m10 or the tascam dr-07 achieve this? Or do I have to have another recorder if i want to use two mics?

The inputs on all of the recorders you mention are stereo inputs.
You use either the line-in or mic-in.

CA14 mics plus a battery box or preamp will work nicely with any of these. I'm partial to the Sony M10
Busman BSC1, AT853 (O,C),KAM i2 Chuck Mod (C), Nak 300 (C),
M10, UA-5, US-1800, Presonus Firepod

You could not do what you mention with any of the decks you ask about. You can use either mic in or line in but not both. The Tascam DR2d does allow you to do exactly what you are asking. There are lots of threads on the site talking about how the Tascam DR2D works.
