Manfrotto adjustable pole 122b mounting options?
« on: August 24, 2015, 10:57:58 AM »
Hi,

I'm looking into buying the Manfrotto extension 122b as a more portable alternative to the 099b.

Now, the 122b has some non-removable 5/8" studs (with 3/8" respectively 1/4" threads) on each end.

How would you mount them to a Cardellini clamp (ending in some 5/8" "baby" pin) or to a tripod base (ending in a 5/8" stud with a 3/8" thread)?

Is the Manfrotto 158 (double 5/8" female adapter) a viable option? As far as I can see from the pics available on b&h, the convertor socket has only one knob and one screw. Could the screw be replaced by a spare part (like the Manfrotto R014,09)?

Any other alternatives to the Manfrotto 122b / Manfrotto 158 combo?
My impression from reading various posts is that the Matthews telescopic baby stand extension is not as sturdy as the 122b.
