http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41466&item=2561118859
multipart question.  first what's the going rate for a pair of these?  if i get them i plan on getting the jim williams mod to them when i can come up with the cash.   next month or so.  second question.  how much better do the 460's sound compared to the akg 300's.  i know they'll blow away the 391's once they're modded but how much of an improvement am i gonna see before the mod.  is it night and day or it is barely noticeable.  thanks for your help and i can't wait to be running 460's-->ua5(wmod)

I paid $600 for my stock 460's. I also upgrade to them right from a set of 393's and I can tell you the difference is immediately noticeable. I wouldn't quite say 'night and day', but you won't get the tapes confused, for sure. looking forward to getting mine modded as well.

Yeah, $600ish is fair. I've seen them go for as  much as $800. There was a pair that went for a $400 buy it now price on Ebay a couple of weeks ago. But that's rare that you find them that cheap. 460's are a much better choice than the 390's IMO.

Not sure the going rate but I got mine mod'd by Jim Williams and they sound abso-fucking-lutely incredible! I love them more than any other mic I've heard in the price range. Sample copies available if there's any interest.

Damn, why don't you buy the MBHO's from creekfreak?

Just curious, I love the MBHO's myself.
