Large Diaphragm Mics?
« on: November 25, 2003, 11:31:01 AM »
Does anyone use these in the field?  A friend of mine here in town is upgrading his studio and is selling his AT 3035s, wondering how they would work in the field.  Thanks.

You use these for taping?  and what are the three patterns?  I have kinda been looking for a more non-traditional, LD mic(s) for taping...

I really enjoy the sound of LD mics... they seem to be gaining in popularity with the release of the ADK TL's

the lomo heads are damn,i bet they use a modified one on the t.h.e audio kr-33 mic.

from what i remember there is also a 25 mm head.

these sound big,the lomo you are after sound darker than most  mics mentioned ,because of the membranes weighs a lot more than the usual 3/4 inch capsules.

those at's have a locking shockmount, so you can run them just about anyway you wish.

Just got them yesterday, and they sound awsome with the UA5 (no mod), I will post some tapes soon and maybe some pictures of the new rig too.
