Title: Component Cable Recommendations?
Post by: Wes on September 30, 2004, 02:16:23 PM
Any of you guys got any component cables that are worth recommending?  I just ordered a plasma tv and I need about a 15ft. component cable to feed the signal.

thanks
Wes

I've read mixed reviews on the bettercable stuff.  Have you compared them to anything?

i compared it to the monster, to some no names, and a couple of cables myer-emco lent me.  the picture quality was unreal.

to give you an idea of how good they are- NSF who does all the good calibrations just bought a few thousand dollars worth of component cable from them.  that speaks volumes to me.

the color is unbelievably clear, the cables are very well built and the customer service is unbelievable.  Also, you can always return them if you dont like them.

Which brand of monster did you compare to and which brand of bettercables do you have, the reference or the reg.?

I ask b/c I was thinking about getting the monster thx ultras (their best) since i can just run down to my local best buy and pick them up.  Its gonna cost $200 for 15ft.

I see the bettercables reference are gonna cost about $320 and the regular silver serpents run $179.  I could see going for the regulars, but I don't know if I could swing over $300 for a video cable, that is unless it comes very highly recommended.   :)

Wes, tell you what, I don't have a 5m one, but i do have a 3m one, if you wanna pay shipping both ways I could do without it for a week or two.
