Topic: Questions about 2 venues: Worcester Centrum in Mass, and Irving Plaza in NY..

Hey all, I plan on taping some upcoming shows @ these venues but Ive never taped @ either one before.  I was hoping someone who has been to either of these can give me some idea on the security at the door and perhaps the best places to stand or speaker location.  Any info is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Irving plaza ain't bad, typically they wand or pat you down really quick, nothing too thorough.  Once inside, you can try for one of the stacks or go up to the balcony and get in the front, there's a railing where you can lean up on and even sit your gear on it and no one would probably notice since it gets really dark up there.

note - don't puff in irving!  i have known many folks that have been escorted out on their face after getting popped!

Irving will wand if the band is not open-taping.  Also, they have someone in the bathroom look around at people taking too long in the stalls (or so it was when I've gone there).

lol!  Damn, i guess i better avoid the stalls this time.  Thanks for the tip.

or just be careful, ive smoked there buncha times, both legal and illegal substances. never got caught. with their new "smokers section" outside and the 10 minute line to get out there, its just not an option for a taper. i aint leaving my rig for that long during set break. just sit down or crouch  while smoking if youre nervous.  i guess it would depend on the show too, ive seen YMSB, KW, STS9 all there and too many people smoking for them to catch everyone.

BUT a friend of mine did get kicked out for watching someones drink (and not drinking or even touching it) because shes under 21...but theyve accepted my fake and gave me a wristband. i really dont get security policy at this venue at all. almost didnt let me tape yonder  had to fight that the band really was taper friendly...

for the record, its a clear channel venue now so that explains the security suckiness.

who you seeing at irving? (its 3 blocks from my home thats why i ask). ill be there for UM in december
