Recommend a clamp for a large pole
« on: April 23, 2008, 05:11:46 AM »
I recently bought a sound professionals t mount that can attach to any 5/8 mic stand.  Alas, I do not want to be the weird guy with the mic stand.  I was hoping to clamp my ring onto a pole that is about 10in in diameter.  Can anyone recommend any clamps that you think will tickle my fancy?

You could also use bungee cords if your rig is light enough.
Out of the game … for now?

If it's this t-mount:

I suggest this clamp:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/298908-REG/Windtech_MPC_10_Multi_Position_C_Type_Clamp.html

It'll clamp to any mic stand and a whole lotta other places, too.  It won't fit a 10" diameter pole, but it could clamp onto something else that you attach to or around the pole.

Actually, you might get something like this:
http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=10290

and use it to clamp a bracket to the pole in some fashion. Maybe modify one of these for the bracket:

A pole 10in (25cm) in diameter?  Seems huge.  If it's actually 1in diameter one may look at Hakuba HCS23 clip at BH:

and maybe a Tripod Reducer Bushing to match screw diameters.
