Pre amp for CSC's>R-09HR?
« on: August 15, 2009, 12:56:32 AM »
I've been running mic in with mic gain on low.  Assuming that's the optimal setting for CSC's, I'd like to get a decent pre....CA ugly??

CA Pres are great. However I MUCH prefer the ST-9100 to the UGLY despite its larger size. The ST-9100 is still plenty small to stealth with and I HATE the fact that you need a mini-screwdriver to change the UGLY's levels (and you have to change each channel separately). Not very convenient in my opinion (unless doing acoustic and you know you will be using max gain before you enter the venue).

Also, if you did not select the 1/8" mini-plug option for the CoreSound mics' termination, you will have to be sure that Chris can make a pre with the proper input (or you will need to have the mics reterminated to 1/8" mini-plug and forgo the use of the CoreSound battery box).

AT853's (all caps)/CM-300 Franken Naks (CP-1,2,3)/JBMod Nak 700's (CP-701,702) > Tascam DR-680
Or Sonic Studios DSM-6 > M10

Another vote for the CA 9100.
Busman Audio BSC1-K1/K2/K3/K4 > HiHo Silver XLR's > Deck TBD

CA-14 (c,o)/MM-HLSC-1 (4.7k mod)/AT853(4.7k mod)(c,o,h,sc)/CAFS (o)/CA-1 (o) > CA-9100 (V. 4.1)/CA-9200/CA-UBB > Sony PCM-D50/Sony PCM-M10
