i always use sandisk...

when i bought mine, i was told NOT to use the ultra, but that might be unique to my pda setup (i have no idea what works in the r9). i do know i have had no problems with my card, and i use it a ton (knocking on wood)...

Thanks for your reply! I'll check the Sandisc out.

Will this one work for me:
Corsair Secure Digital Card 2048MB, 133x SD-Card, 15.5/21MB Write/read

Found quite a good deal on those.

I got a Transcend 2GB card for around $40 from newegg.com and it's even dropped a few bucks since then.  Works great in my Canon digicam.  Haven't tried in an audio recorder.

I have used the Kingston Standard SD, and the basic Sandisk SD, with no problems. I believe both cards are running in the $40-50 range. I'm not sure if they recommend the higher speed cards. My R-1 ran fine on what is considered, slower cards. My R-09 seems to like them as well.

I called Edirol and they ship with a Panasonic, but also use the SanDisk cards.  So I bought an plain ordinary speed 2 Gb SanDisk card (NOT the Ultra II etc.) and it works perfectly.  You don't need the speed of a photographic high-speed card for audio.
