First Canon HV20 footage
« on: January 31, 2010, 10:24:32 AM »
Testing my 2nd hand bought Canon HV20.
I locked the aperture, then set the exposure to my likings.
Vid is a bit dark, unfortunately the guys at the desks weren't too generous with stagelight.
Overall I'm very happy with the outcome though. What a difference in comparison with my SD camera. This vid is a nice example of getting grainless results in lowlight situations.

Very nice!  You probably know this already, but concert lighting is probably the toughest lighting on earth to get good results in for either still or video photography because of so much contrast between foreground and background...and then you inevitably get, at some point in the show, the dreaded RED lights!  Overall, I think you should be very pleased with your first outing with that camera!  I want one!

Thanks for your reply.
Yes I know about the red lights. With my SD cam the red stage lights "ruined" some of my vids.
With the HV20 it's much more comfortable to shoot poorly lit stages, well at least this "test" showed me.
