Busted iPod - Any way to salvage the info/hard drive?
« on: May 15, 2010, 11:04:12 PM »
I have an 80 gig 5th gen. (late 06) iPod that I dropped and am really hoping to save the music somehow.  Went to apple (they're no help) and I've tried the some of the online methods but can't get if back up.

The hard drive is making the "dead car trying to start" sound, so any help would be more than appreciated.  Thanks.

You could try putting the hard drive in the freezer... Sometimes that helps.

But you have to update using your iTunes Drive/Folder, which has all your music.  So I guess I'm not understanding why the concern.
