Any one know where unity gain is on the Tascam DR-40? I am asking for a friend, don't have this myself so I am not familiar with how it is set-up...dial or buttons.

Not sure if this helps but when I ran line out from a MixPre, the levels on the pre and the tascam synced when the deck's input level was set to "0".
