Going to tape Jonh Butler Trio at the Variety Playhouse - I have 391's, 93's and akg actives .. what would you sugggest for a small venue going into a warm UA5... thx

depending on where you are in the place, i'd run the 91's.  If you can get close where you're away from the bar and the talkers in the back, i'd run the 91's...if you get stuck in the back i'd run the 93's.

hypers seem to cut the bass a bit too, so if the room is boomy, they still might be a good choice even if you are up front.


Because nothing says "I have lots of money and am sort of confused as to how to spend it" like Bose.
