1/8" Stereo to Bal XLR????
« on: November 15, 2005, 11:21:40 AM »
Hoping there's an interconnect genius that can set me right on this one. I need to go from an 1/8" headphone output (on a laptop) to an XLR input for a courtroom soundsystem. I'd like to preserve both channels of audio to the mono XLR input. My initial thinking is;
Pin2 = T & R
Pin3 = S
Pin1 - float

Will I have any summing issues by connecting T & R (left & right) together? Will it be a problem to float Pin1?

I'm probably going to eng up hacking into a cable and figuring it out for myself, but I'd like to have a good starting point. This HAS to be WAY more simple than I'm making it... either that or damn near impossible!

Thanks
Pockets full of nickels and nothing left to eat, and I'm stuck behind a semi on Soniat Street.
